Hotel Prinzessin Rupprecht is situated within one of Swakopmund's famous
historical buildings built during the time of German colonialism. With
the building being established in 1901, it was used as a hospital until
the end of World War One. Subsequently it also operated as a maternity
hospital, school hostel and creché.
